Foundation Degrees Foundation Degrees are vocational qualifications that sit at a level between the Higher National Diploma (HND) and Bachelor degrees. They are designed to integrate academic and work-based learning, giving the learner a foundation in a subject that will enable them to go on to employment in that field. Courses are typically two years long and are offered both by higher education institutions and further education colleges. However, many people choose to study part-time or by flexible learning whilst they continue to work. There are over 1,000 Foundation Degree courses available, covering a range of subjects including forensic science, commercial music, tourism, veterinary nursing, e-commerce, health and social care, police studies and chemical technology. Students who are awarded a Foundation degree may be eligible to progress directly to the third year of a Bachelor's degree. FOUNDATION DEGREE TITLES
