Maintenance Grants
Maintenance GrantsAny new full-time higher education students from lower income households starting a course from September 2006 will be eligible to receive a non-repayable Maintenance Grant. This is worth up to £2,835 a year, depending on household income, and when the student starts their course.
Students who receive the Maintenance Grant will receive up to £1,260 of it in place of the Student Loan for Maintenance . This means that students from lower income households will have a smaller loan to repay when they finish studying and start work. Maintenance Grants are paid directly in the student's bank account in three instalments - one at the start of each term. However, students who receive the Maintenance Grant cannot also receive the Special Support Grant . Click here to read more from InterEducation.co.uk |
